Have you thought about becoming an influencer or trying to earn money at home by posting products you love?

Well, before you get started there are a few simple things that you need to know!

Throughout my journey as a business owner and influencer, I've learned some things to do and not do. It doesn't matter how many followers you have or where you see your career as an influencer going, you can benefit from these Do's and Don't's.

Number 1:

Do- start off by being a brand rep. This not only gets your face associated in the world of influencing but it gets you quick easy experience. You won't get paid, but you will get free product and it will allow you to PRACTICE.

Number 2:

Don't- sell yourself short and work for free. This is different that Brand Repping. This means DO NOT collaborate with someone for free. If they reach out to you, then you know they like you and they can afford to pay for what they like. Yes, adjust your pricing accordingly to your reach and number of followers, but even if its $15, that is something.

Number 3:

Do- reach out and ask big brands to work with you. Have a pitch ready to go and make sure to include your willingness to negotiate immeditaely. If it's a small brand, include your pricing package and ask if they have a marketing budget. If it's a big brand, make sure that you are confident and adjust your expectations to your experience.

Number 4:

Do- post content of your own and tag brands that you wish to work with. If you interact with their page, produce content for them without being asked, and let them use your photos for a while before you reach out, you most likely will have better luck getting a deal. Also, make sure that your content is specific to their needs and style.

Number 5:

Don't- copy others and try to say it's your own. It's totally okay to be inspired by others and in the Western Influencing scene, its welcomed from what I can see! With that in mind, give credit where credit is due. It also might work in your favor if someone reshares your work and wants to connect with you! From my own experience, this has led to photoshoot opportunities and making great friendships!
