TURQUOISE AUTHENTICITY DISCLAIMER:
At the Hayzie Soul we take pride in offering high-quality turquoise jewelry. To ensure trust we offer information on stones below. We rarely sell reconstituted turquoise and when we do it is clearly labeled.
Natural Turquoise- Mined stones that have not been treated.
Stabilized Turquoise- Genuine Turquoise that has been enhanced with resin to improve durability
Composite or Reconstituted Turquoise- Turquoise fragments that have been bonded together for a uniform look. Includes the stones White Buffalo x Bronze, Dahlia, and Mohave. These stones still incorporate genuine materials.
We ensure that each description is accurate to the best of our knowledge.
Do NOT get wet! Most Native American artist use natural fibers to set their stones and when wet can expand and cause damage to your items.
STERLING SILVER PEARLS DISCLAIMER:
At the Hayzie Soul we take pride in offering pearls that are both Native American made and USA machine made.
Please Note that not all pearls are handcrafted by Native artisans and those should not be referred to as Native American Pearls or Navajo Pearls. When buying from anywhere you should pay attention to the details.
Machine made pearls are not crafted using Native American silversmithing techniques. Therefore they are all perfectly shaped and made, unlike Native or Navajo pearls which can not be replicated.
Sterling silver is the most common metal alloy. Like gold, silver is soft and can be easily damaged. Sterling silver consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% of another metal, typically copper. Jewelry made with sterling silver should be stamped with "925" or "Sterling" to indicate that it is authentic sterling silver.
It is common that pearls and turquoise are misrepresented by sellers. Some ways you can tell if your beads are handmade by native artist are by surface texture, weight, shape, soldering marks, and bead hole shape. Machine made pearls are uniform and Native pearls will show characteristic and unique imperfections.
Each listing of ours will have a description and product details that is accurate for you, so that you are not guessing! This is also why we do not change our jewelry cards.
Cleaning your pearls is important! We recommend a professional cleaning once a year. Many things contribute to clouding the gemstones and exposure to salt air can cause tarnishing. However silver that is regularly worn needs less care, so we encourage you to wear your items every day! You can gently clean your pearls with a polishing cloth!
It’s safest to not get your jewelry wet!
